**About you**:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and efficient Data Officer to join our Engineering and Assets team.
You will have strong general IT and technology skills with a working knowledge of MS Office systems. Experience of using and managing database records is essential, and you will ideally have experience of asset management systems and Geographic Information Systems.
You will have good organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise workloads, and will have a logical, structured approach to your work and a keen eye for detail. You will be excited by the opportunities arising from new technology and systems, and the development of more efficient and effective ways of working using data and future technological advancements.
**About the role**:
The Data Officer is responsible for the management of the Engineering Team’s Asset Records system, maintaining archive information on the Council’s assets for which the team is responsible.
You will collate, input and maintain up-to-date asset records in our asset information, geographic information and asset inspection systems, using recognised data management standards. As the custodian of these systems, you will provide advice and input to the council’s digitation programme.
You will be the Geographical Information Systems champion and expert user for the team, updating corporate mapping layers and producing maps for internal and external audiences.
You will be supporting the delivery of the engineering team’s programme, and will provide technical and administrative support to the Council’s engineering team including land registry searches, estates enquiries, requesting and collating buried service plans from utility providers, and processing of Purchase Orders and Invoices. You will also be responsible for other record keeping to support the team’s function and demonstrate compliance, including training, PPE and Equipment servicing.
