Assessment ManagerA Local Authority based in the West Midlands is seeking an experienced Social Work Manager to join their Assessment service.Highlights:This is a dedicated management postYou will be encouraged to use your creativity and experience touse innovative ways to help support your team and those children on your caseloadYou will be managing 7 staff members including ASYE studentsYou will be supported by Senior Practitioners who are available to deputise if necessaryThe team hold duty once every5 weeks. As a Team Manager you will also hold duty where you will manage all strategy discussions & S.47 Investigations that weekThe team is responsible for completing the initial assessment and if necessary escalate and pass on to the Care Management team.The team will also deal with S17 (CIN)Pay rate for this post is fixed at £39.07/Hr in line with the memorandumThis is an excellent opportunity to take on a Management post for an established team which cover the Local Authorities initial assessment function.You will coming into a team which is staffed by experienced and autonomous practitioners who take complete initial assessments as well as S.17's. If cases require escalation these are then passed onto the Care Management team. The team benefit from holdingduty every 5 weeks so there is enough time between duty weeks for social workers to clear off cases and attend training. As a Team Manager you will also be contributing towards duty at a similar frequency. You will be joining a Local Authority that encouragesinnovative practice and you will have the opportunity to use your creativity and experience to manage your team. Furthermore you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the further development of the service and you will be rewarded for your work bymeans of promotion.
