Pre - Op Assessment Administrator

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic individual with strong time management and organisational skills to join the Surgical Pre-Assessment Department. The post holder will be the main point of contact for Admissions Booking Teams, Surgery Operational teams and Outpatient Department.
The post holder will be required to work closely with the Pathway Coordinator in coordinating all aspects of the Pre-assessment bookings, patient questionnaires and triage clinics.
To ensure that patients are booked into the appropriate Pre-assessment appointment service and liaise with the clinical staff as required, ensuring the clinics run smoothly and effectively.
To be part of the Pre-Assessment team and provide administrative support, ensuring good relationships, communication and team work are maintained at all times.
To identify the needs of patients in conjunction with their admission episode, i.e. language barriers, anxiety, carer/dependency issues.
To arrange patient transport if required for pre-assessment appointments in conjunction with Trust guidelines and policy.
Provide information on an ad hoc basis
Have the ability and commitment to work independently as well as part of the team and be able to adhere to strict deadlines.

As the Pre-Op Assessment Administrator, the post holder will be responsible for providing a high-quality administrative support service to the Surgical Pre-Assessment Department. The post holder will be the main point of contact for the Admissions Booking Teams, Surgery Operational teams and Outpatients Department.
The role will require the individual to interact with a multi-disciplinary, cross-organisational team in a busy office environment, dealing with complex and sensitive issues, often requiring appropriate judgements to be made under mínimal supervision.

Ensure senior staff are aware of data management issues.
Assist in initiatives, which aim to improve data quality.
Accurately and efficiently, enter patient data on to various databases. This will require a high level of attention to detail.
Plan in advance with senior staff in order to provide data that will meet the necessary requirements.
Provide information on an ad hoc basis.
**Service Specific Duties Responsibilities**:
Liaise with speciality admissions booking teams to support continuous improvement in understanding of patient pathway. This may involve leading on or participating in specific training sessions for staff as required.
Support the clinical and administrative teams in ensuring the pre-assessment clinics are set up correctly.
Responsible for the day to day management and utilisation of the Pre-assessment clinics, ensuring all slots are fully utilised.
Establish excellent levels of communication and liaison with other departments such as Admissions Teams, Care Group Service Teams; Outpatients Departments.
