**Reports into**: Research Impact & Engagement Manager
**Location**: Hybrid - A blend of working from home and your nominated hub office, we have hubs in London, Bristol, Manchester and Oxford. Specific patterns for working in the office are not mandated, and the frequency of time worked in the office is agreed with your manager. Meeting in person is something we value so you may need to travel on occasion to any of our hub offices.

**About the role**:
This role will be based within the UK Data Service team which is part of the content and discovery area within Jisc’s digital resources directorate.
We are a small team who provide access to census and international data, and evidence and promote impact of research supported by data in our collection.
In this role you will be responsible for taking large and complex datasets (census data) and preparing them for ingest into UK Data Service platforms in accordance with agreed quality standards for data and metadata.
**Responsibilities will include**:

- Developing a solid understanding of the complex structures of census aggregate data and international microdata
- Implementing timely processing and delivery through our sub-setting platform of outputs from the UK 2021 and 2022 censuses
- Ensuring that data processing processes adhere to best practice and are robust, extensible and standards compliant

**Key Skills and Experience**:

- Some experience of working with relational databases, including PostgresSQL or SQL Server.
- Experience of working with large datasets with a complex structure.
- Good understanding of Python and methods for data processing would be desirable
