THE BUYER will be responsible for delivering buying expertise through a category buying approach across the supply base that delivers optimum products and solutions to achieve the wider business objectives. Key responsibilities will include:

- Manage supply base and work with colleagues to ensure the required quality, price, and service standards are met or exceeded at all times.
- Negotiate contract terms (e.g. pricing, rebates, promotional support, exclusivity etc) with the designated suppliers to achieve optimum commercial benefit and ensure that the commercial interests of the business are secured and protected.
- Develop and maintain live product category plans to provide ongoing recommendations to the business that will underpin and support the execution of the wider business objectives.

We want somebody with a passion for food, a solid career record and experience of buying from an International Supply base and knowledge of the complexity of costing and logistics.

Key Criteria for success in this role are:

- Experience as a Buyer is essential with proven track record of success in sourcing products Internationally.
- Pragmatic approach to solving problems - whilst working well under pressure
- Ideally educated to degree level
- Part or fully CIPS qualified (desirable not essential)
- High levels of IT Skills - especially Excel, Word and Power Point
