An exclusive high-end retailer which specialises in showcasing the best of Japan have a rare and exciting opportunity. They are currently recruiting for a Buyer with a strong understanding of Japanese cultures, homeware, accessories and apparel.
As the Buyer you will be responsible for developing and implementing the buying strategy, range selection, sourcing and managing the OTB for their retail store, ecommerce and partners. Identifying range plans, whilst maintaining strong relationships withexternal suppliers, brands and vendors. Working closely with the wider head office team to build new ideas and strategies in-line with business needs. You will report directly to the Retail Director and will oversee the buying team.
The ideal applicant must have exceptional multi-department buying and sourcing experience working at an established buyer or junior buyer level ready for the next step for a high-end retailer, online retailer or department store. Possessing strong negotiation,ecommerce, product management, planning and forecasting experience with the ability to analyse and drive profit. You must be highly numerical and analytical with experience working with stakeholders and board directors. It is essential you have previous managementexperience with the ability to motivate and develop a team, excellent communication & presentation skills (written & verbal) fluent in English and Japanese, demonstrating an excellent awareness of Japanese cultures, and be willing to travel overseas.
