Ward Clerk- Apprentice

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time ward clerk working 27.5 hours per week in Centralised Pre-Assessment at City Hospital.
The role covers two areas of CPAU based in the BTC and ward D18 in the main spine hospital. CPAU is a very busy faced paced environment that pre assess patient suitability for surgery. It is a friendly and welcoming environment, were you will work closely with the Nursing and Healthcare Support team along with two other ward clerks.
**Apprenticeship entry requirements**:
During the apprenticeship training programme you will work towards achieving the requirements of the personal specification. The training will be provided in house; all off the job training will be within working hours.
The apprenticeship will generally take up to 21 months to complete, including end point assessment. On completion of the apprenticeship programme and meeting the necessary work standard, this role will move to NHS Agenda for Change Band 2.
**The main duties of the role include**:
- Answering telephone queries
- Supporting The team with any clerical duties required
- booking patients in for their appointments
- keeping accurate records and ensuring all results are scanned onto the system
- preparing clinics in advance
- Booking and rearranging appointments
