This job description outlines the responsibilities and requirements for a School Cleaner. The role's primary purpose is to ensure that the school's premises are cleaned to a high standard while also contributing to the positive reputation of the Cleaning Team both within the school and the broader community.

## **Key Role Information**:

- **Reporting to**: Cleaning Supervisor and Operations Manager.
- **Hours**: 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 05:30 to 08:30, working 46 weeks per year.

## **Main Duties and Responsibilities**:
1. **Daily Cleaning**: Perform daily cleaning tasks in line with schedules set by the Operations Manager.

2. **Adjustments for Events/Absences**: Adapt to amended cleaning schedules as required for school events or to cover for staff absences.

3. **Deep Cleaning**: Complete thorough deep cleaning projects during school holidays.

4. **Maintenance of Designated Area**: Ensure that your assigned cleaning area is consistently clean and tidy to a high standard.

5. **Punctuality**: Maintain good timekeeping, ready to begin the shift promptly at the start time.

6. **Flexibility**: Be available to cover other areas of the school when necessary to accommodate holidays or staff absences.

7. **Health & Safety Compliance**: Adhere to health, safety, fire, and accident reporting regulations, both school-based and legal.

8. **Report Safety Concerns**: Report any health and safety concerns, including defects, accidents, or near-misses, to the Cleaning Supervisor in a timely manner.

9. **Chemical and Equipment Handling**: Handle cleaning chemicals and equipment carefully, following safety guidelines.

10. **Professionalism**: Display a positive and professional attitude, ensuring that dress and behavior are exemplary in line with school policies.

11. **Training Participation**: Engage in training provided by the school for personal development and skill improvement.

12. **Time Management**: Manage personal time and cleaning tasks efficiently for the benefit of the school.

13. **Child Protection Policy**: Implement and adhere to the school's Child Protection policy.

14. **Other Duties**: Perform any other duties as required that are appropriate to the role.

This role requires a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment for students and staff, along with a professional and proactive approach to all duties.

**Experience**:

- School cleaning: 1 year (required)
- Commercial cleaning: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:
