**About the Role**:
This is a technical position, and the primary responsibility is to manage operational support for the Nasstar Cloud Engineering infrastructure, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining data centre, platform infrastructure and to contribute to the ongoing management/support of the various Nasstar Cloud environments and associated underlying technologies.

**Main Responsibilities will include**:
**Incident Management**

Act as an escalation point for other operational teams within Nasstar who consume resource and services from Cloud Engineering platforms, progressing support incidents and technical escalations in line with the Nasstar SLA, including escalation of incidents that the Service Desk are unable to resolve.

To perform proactive tasks in a timely and effective manner to help maximize platform and service uptime and to prevent reoccurring issues, such as resolving monitoring alerts, deploying security updates, checking watch points and other general platform/systems maintenance and administration that may be required.

**What we’d like from you**:
Hands on Experience on the below;
- Private, public and hybrid cloud hosting technologies
- Dedicated and multi-tenant environments
- Windows Server operating systems
- Microsoft Exchange 2010/2013 and newer
- Active Directory management, including group policy and DNS
- Scripting in at least two of Perl, Python, PHP, Powershell and bash.
- Antivirus technologies, e.g. Kaspersky, Trend Deep Security, CrowdStrike
- Firewalling technologies including Fortigate and Clavister
- Virtualisation technologies such as VMWare, Hyper-V and KVM/Xen
- Backup/data replication technologies such as Carbonite (SecureVault),Zerto and Veeam
- Worked in an international service delivery environment that involves structured processes and timelines.
- HPe, Dell and CISCO UCS hardware
- Citrix and RDS

Understanding Of the below;
- Linux operating systems, including RedHat Enterprise Linux (and derivatives such as CentOS/Alma/Rocky) and Ubuntu Linux.
- MTA and protocols, e.g Postfix, Sendmail, Dovecot, Courier
- Principles of networking and switching
- IP addressing and subnetting
- Routing protocols such as OSPF
- SAN/NAS storage technologies, to include NFS, iSCSI and Fibre Channel

**Other qualities specific to this role include**:
Customer Satisfaction: Being able to build credibility, respect, and trust with the customer through demonstrating a customer-focused attitude and empathy.

Effective Ticket Management: All assigned incidents and tasks are to be updated regularly in a clear and concise manner, keeping users and stakeholders informed of progress.

The goal is not to close a ticket, but to resolve an issue accurately in the shortest time possible.

Personal Ownership: With the vast range of responsibilities, it is crucial for all team members to own their tasks, perform effective handover and proactively engage others.

Take responsibility for day-to-day BAU activities and when directed, project work, to ensure that the Nasstar Cloud Engineering platforms meet the agreed targets for availability, compliance and capacity against agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Operational Level Agreements (OLAs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Service Level Targets (SLTs).
