Join the friendly Biochemistry Department at Nobles Hospital as a **Trainee Specialist Biomedical Scientist**, an exciting development role where, upon completion of the IBMS Specialist Diploma portfolio, you will become a qualified Specialist Biomedical Scientist

As part of your role, you will carry out clinical scientific and technical duties in the diagnostic laboratory. You’ll have the opportunity to perform a wide range of both simple and complex tests that assist in the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of a range of illnesses. Your main responsibilities will include undertaking laboratory investigations and assessments of results, preventative maintenance on laboratory instruments, and maintaining and progressing quality and training initiatives. Enhanced pay is also available through participation in the weekend working and out-of-hours rota, following training and competencies.

You’ll be supported to develop your knowledge and skills whilst in this Trainee role by taking on qualified Band 6 duties. You’ll receive a percentage of the maximum fully qualified rate, which will increase as you get closer to qualifying.

A generous annual leave entitlement starting at 27 days and 10 Public Holidays.**

Subject to meeting eligibility criteria, the IOM Public Service offers two pension arrangements: the Isle of Man Government Unified Scheme 2011 or the Isle of Man Government Defined Contribution (DC) Arrangement.

A relocation package of up to £7,000 based on receipts is available for this role. Housing Assistance is also available where the Department will pay the difference between your current mortgage/rent bill, and that of your new accommodation on the Isle of Man, up to a maximum of £250 per month.
