The Department of Natural Sciences is a large and successful academic unit in the Faculty of Science and Engineering. We work with research institutions, industry partners, national organisations and NGOs worldwide, to deliver solutions that address challenges posed in environmental change and sustainability, socio-economic, cultural and political change, health and advanced materials.
We deliver courses to over 1500 students across Undergraduate, and Postgraduate programmes including BSc Geography and BSc Human Geography. We are committed to making a difference for our students and wider society through excellent education that transforms lives, and high quality, impactful research. Our human geographers are world leaders in research focusing on cities, space, culture and identity and we are seeking to grow this dynamic teaching and research community.
**The Role**:
**You will**:
- have a PhD in Human Geography or a related discipline.
- have experience of teaching in a higher education setting, and experience of Unit/Module Leadership (unit/module design, unit/module management, assessment, quality assurance) is desirable.
- be student-focused in your academic practice, committed to quality, collaborative in your work and driven in your own professional development.
- be able to undertake research in the field of urban geography and have a strong track record/pipeline of high-quality papers.
