Service Now Developer

Key Accountabilities - Provide architectural and design oversight to ensure all solutions are fit for purpose and use. - Design/Build technical solutions based on client's needs and process requirements - Deliver solutions using Agile software development processes - Understand the current “as is processes” and deliver toolset changes based on upcoming process changes - Customisation or development of enhancement requests for existing ITSM/ITOM tools and processes - Take care of end to end development activities for a specific enhancement or project as an individual contributor - Work closely with BA’s, Architects, Testing team and process teams - Identify areas of process and tooling improvement and provide solutions to ensure tool is protected in process, security and performance aspects - Ensure gaps are clearly identified and reported to BA/stake holders - Produce design documents where ever necessary - Work closely with vendor resources to meet development deadlines in case of larger projects - Take respective ownership as an individual contributor throughout the project lifecycle - Take respective ownership of preparation of release plan - Involve in Proof of concept activities and provide best possible solution to customers/stake holders - Ongoing involvement in continuous improvement of toolset Follow continuous improvement best practices by identifying and diagnosing improvement opportunities Stakeholder Management and Leadership Leadership: Holds working knowledge in concepts and practices of Leadership: - Develops presentations to influence others - Contributes to and encourages ideas; builds on suggestions of others, leads by example - Inspires confidence by making and honouring commitments; demonstrates initiative and competence; communicates a vision and strategy of own role - Motivated and a motivator of others Management: Holds working knowledge in concepts and practices of Management is a plus: - Can identify and map stakeholders of the project - Demonstrates initiative and competence; supports and encourages positive working behaviours in others - Effectively delegates tasks; provides examples of own ability to shift well from task to task - Experienced in working in a team, creating and managing project plans and coordinating others - Able to identify priorities and adapt as needed - Knows the objectives, initiatives and issues of their team & department and can use this to prioritise work Decision-making and Problem Solving - Has documented and analysed alternative IT and operational solutions, risks and benefits, and obtained decision on resolution - Can identify common types of risks / issues and where project dependencies exist; maintains simple RAID - Can engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation from all relevant business areas - Demonstrates a good end to end understanding of the systems processing for the business area & relationships Risk and Control Objective [This section is mandatory for all role profiles and must not be deleted] Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards. Person Specification Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications: Business Knowledge: Has good general knowledge with some detailed knowledge of products/functions outside of day to day area supported: - Can engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation from all relevant business areas - Demonstrates a good end to end understanding of the systems processing for the business area & relationships Exposure to the follow key modules in ServiceNow is required: - Incident/Problem/Change - CMDB - Discovery - Orchestration (Preferable, not essential) - Knowledge - Service (Request) Catalog Demonstrable experience in following Technical concepts of ServiceNow is MUST - ServiceNow web services and APIs - Expert in JavaScript - Workflow Configuration - Working knowledge of relational databases - Experience with Web Technologies (XML, HTML, JavaScript, Web Services, etc) Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications: - Working experience in ServiceNow Discovery (Preferable, not essential ) - Ability to interface and develop with Java/J2EE backend technologies - Working knowledge of Active Directory, LDAP, SSO The following Certifications are an added advantage. - Certified System Administrator - Certified Application Developer - Certified Implementation Specialist - ITIL v3" **Job Type**: Temporary contract Schedule: - 8 hour shift
