Development Coach and Trainer

The Harpenden Building Society are expanding their People team and we are now recruiting for a part time Development Coach and Trainer, 3 days a week based at the Head Office in Harpenden. The role will be 2 days a week in the office and with flexibilityfor 1 day a week working from home. Flexibility is required if the role requires 3 days a week at times.
**The role**
The development coach and trainer’s role is to help develop the skills, knowledge and competence of all colleagues through appropriate and timely coaching and training interventions. As the People Team is a small one, the development coach & trainer willbe very hands on and is responsible for meeting the administrative requirements of the role.
Working with managers to identify coaching and training requirements to support our people strategy.
Designing, delivering, and evaluating training sessions, workshops and courses including line manager programmes at basic and intermediate levels.
Designing materials, or delivering tools, to enable online & self-supported learning.
Coaching at all levels except for the Leadership Team.
Supporting line managers to deliver job specific training to a high standard.
Designing and delivering HR related knowledge content to managers with the People Business Partner.
Managing the Let’s Talk programme aimed at sharing knowledge and raising awareness on varying topics.
Overseeing a programme of continuous professional development at all levels
Managing the learning programme for apprenticeships and graduates (when on board).
Administration relating to learning, development and coaching. This includes responsibility for overseeing mandatory training, study repayment agreements, training budget requirements, MI, evaluation and reporting for example.
**What you will need**
A coaching, ILM or similar qualified is desirable.
Experience in a Financial Services environment is an advantage
Proficient user of Microsoft programmes and other software used in the design and presentation of training materials.
To be able to hit the ground running.
Be comfortable working for a small ever evolving organisation.
Proven ability to build effective relationships with colleagues at all levels
Strong theoretical knowledge of learning and development practices and the ability to relate this to everyday situations
Experience working as part of a People/HR department
Evidence of designing quality training materials
Passionate about learning
Great listener

Excellent planning and organisational skills
Focused on results and improving organisational competence
Resourceful, providing innovative solutions to challenges
Experience of helping people transition through change
Self-sufficient as this is a stand-alone role in the People Team
