Core Duties
Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality
- Develop and maintain a suite of compliant H&S documentation to ensure consistency across the business.
- Develop and maintain an inspection and audit regime to challenge the standards of the business in all aspects of H&S.
- Develop and deliver the strategic vision for the business in terms of Health, Safety, Wellbeing and Environmental performance.
- Collate information on company H&S performance and produce monthly reports to the Leadership Team.
- Produce regular H&S bulletins and communicate them effectively to the operational teams.
- Produce regular reports including league tables on H&S performance.
- Develop and maintain a toolbox talk timetable for operations to deliver consistent training.
- Attend prestart meetings to support operations in contract risk mitigation.
- Identify H&S best practice and implement consistently through operations.
- Investigate incidents and produce necessary reports for the business.
- Manage external resources including BSG to maximise their impact.
- Assist with business planning and specific operational plans.
- Support operations and HR in managing H&S performance issues.
- Represent the business as our lead Health and Safety professional.
**People Management**
- Create a positive culture around H&S performance.
- Develop a training plan to ensure the competence of staff and trade colleagues.
- Coach and support staff in all aspects of Health, Safety and Environmental management.
- Deliver on site training as required.
- Present to operational teams as part of change management.
- Present and report on H&S performance to the Leadership Team
Growing the business:
- Contribute as required to the bid process including accurate statistics and reports.
- Provide case studies in areas where we are achieving H&S excellence and distribute.
- Target achieving awards and accreditations to support future bids.
**Improvements, Policies and Procedure**:
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement is adopted by operations.
- Effectively communicate, induct and validate the understanding of all when implementing new processes.
- Identify areas of best practice and communicate them to the business.
