**A day in the life of a Care Assistant at Guild Care**
When you're a Care Assistant at Guild Care, you'll feel like part of the family. Every day you'll provide compassionate, person-centered care to our residents, ensuring that their feelings are respected. It's a super rewarding and varied role. You'll work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and senior staff. You'll care for residents compassionately and respectfully. You and your co-workers will work together to accomplish tasks while getting to know each other better.
It's your responsibility to assist residents with their daily needs, such as dressing, undressing, and bathing. However, you're also responsible for caring for those who have chronic or acute illnesses and need high levels of nursing care. As well as making and changing beds, tidying up rooms, and other housekeeping duties, you will also be expected to assist the residents during their mealtimes.
You'll provide social and recreational activities to help meet the residents' emotional needs, and you'll support them in doing their favourite hobbies and past times. Additionally, you will promote the residents' physical and mental health.
You'll be part of the care team, helping develop residents' care plans that meet their personal and social needs while respecting their dignity and enhancing their independence. During this role, you'll report both verbally and in writing about care planning, handovers, and other necessary meetings. As part of your learning and development program, you will have the opportunity to participate in various training sessions in order to develop your skills, confidence, and abilities. In your role as a key member of the Guild Care team, you will be expected to promote high-quality care practices and effective communication with both residents as well as your colleagues, whilst living by our charity values.
