A school is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to work on a one-to-one basis with one of their pupils.

The school is for pupils with social emotional needs, including mental health needs and challenging behaviour. Pupils here are aiming to achieve lower-level qualifications, vocational awards and are supported using a specialised curriculum and noting approachby staff.

Your role as a Learning Support Assistant would be:

- Support the pupil with their lesson.
- Support in outdoor learning as to better engage with the young person.
- Provide emotional support where required.
- Report progress to carers and school
- Be a good role model for the pupil.

The successful Learning Support Assistant would have:

- Experience of working with people with mental health needs
- The ability to build rapport with young people
- Understanding of challenges to young people in care
- A passion for supporting those who needs
- A background in outdoor learning or sport is desirable but not essential.

The role is based in Stockport with links by road and public transport.

Applicant must also provide and Overseas Police (if outside of the UK for more than 6 months within the last 5 years)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
