An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Surgical Division to cover on our surgical support ward working flexibly over the week to ensure the service is covered. The post holder will be working 34 hours over 4 days. - 3 x 0730 - 1800 Mon - Wed & 1 x 0730 - 1130 Thurs. The main role requirements are admitting and discharging patients off the system, filing, making appointments, requesting porters, liaising with internal and external stakeholders and other clerical duties expected on the ward.

You will provide a professional front of house and telephone service. Answer enquiries, receive and relay messages, both in person and on the telephone, from patients and hospital staff, using knowledge of hospital procedures to maintain a professional front of house service. Meet the needs of the service of all users and take into account special requirements including communication impairments.
On a daily basis you will process all admissions and discharges on the system, ensure the green cards are kept up to date, maintain patients case notes and file into the case notes, provide patients appointments if required upon discharge and liaise with the ward staff and other multi-disciplinary teams

Chesterfield Royal Hospital is located in Calow, Chesterfield, which is situated on a green field site on the edge of the Peak District National Park. Chesterfield Royal Hospital was officially opened by the queen in 1985 and since then it has continued to expand and modernise, currently holding approximately 550 beds. We provide acute in-patient and out-patient care for Chesterfield and the surrounding rural area of North Derbyshire, serving a population of approximately 350,000 people.
