Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner Trainee

This role has been developed to support patient care and NHS service delivery. The post holder will be a trainee within an NHS Talking Therapies Service (formally known as IAPT services), which will be delivering high volume, low intensity interventions and will assist in improving services for clients with a range of common mental health disorders, particularly anxiety and depression, within a stepped care framework that is equitable, non-stigmatising, accessible, responsive to local need and available to people aged 16 years and over. The post holder will be expected to work with people with different cultural backgrounds, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities. The post holder will be expected to undertake professional training in low intensity psychological interventions alongside the delivery of psychological therapies as part of the Stepped Care Model.
Working at Step 2 the postholder will learn and deliver Step 2 cognitively informed interventions. As an employed learner, the post holder will attend university training in accordance with academic requirements of professional training and will undertake clinical activities and log these to demonstrate learning as commensurate with an applied programme of study.
