**JOB PURPOSE**
- Provide English training to various client groups which stretches and challenges the learners
- To support learners in the development of their English skills and knowledge to enable them to meet their aspirations and fulfil their potential.
- Promote good practice delivery of English across the organisation.
- To take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all learners.
- To ensure that a quality learner journey is delivered to all learners meeting the requirement of the Ofsted Common Inspection Framework.
- To ensure that the organisations and awarding bodies quality assurance procedures are adhered to.
**PERFORMANCE INDICATORS**
- Personal performance meets objective and targets as set by the organisation.
- Ensure learner overall and timely success rates meet or exceed TheLightBulb targets
- Use robust initial assessment and diagnostics to ensure planning for any additional learning support requirements for individual learners.
- Where relevant IQA referral rate to be less than 5% annually.
- Maintain the organisations quality standards by consistently achieving good or better grades through observations.
- At least 90% of your learner feedback to be rated as good or above.
**AUTHORITY LEVELS**
- To take action where Health and Safety or E&D Standards require action to be taken.
- Report any abuse or concerns about a learner’s health and general wellbeing using the correct procedure.
**KEY TASKS**
**Tutoring and Support**
- To promote the importance of English to all assigned learners and to raise awareness across the organisation
- To provide effective delivery of courses and support sessions for learners in your cohort to build their confidence in the use of English
- Promote the use of Skills Forward diagnostic and e-functional skills learning package to learners, taking responsibility for and managing allocated learners use of the Skills Forward system
- Use appropriate tools and techniques to identify additional support needs and deliver suitable interventions
- Produce curriculum and delivery plans in line with company policy for all sessions.
- Prepare learners thoroughly in the requirements of the relevant functional skills exams and support learners to reach the correct standard prior to taking exams
- Book exams for learners using the correct organisational process and within expected timescales
- Carry out monthly speaking and listening assessments, encouraging team members to invite their learners to these group sessions
- Maintain daily/weekly/monthly schedules, informing team members of these so that learners across the business can be invited to take part in English development
- Develop course material that suits the needs of the awarding bodies, that stretches and challenges the learners in the use of English.
- Research engaging and interactive resources to support the delivery of English across the provision, including the use of technology.
- Ensure all course material is fit for purpose and complies with company policy on branding.
- All paperwork and portfolios to be completed in a manner that does not impact on the timely completion of learners.
- Maintain achievement levels above 95% on all courses.
- Engage with your delivery team colleagues to raise the standard of delivery of English across their cohorts
**CPD**
- Continually develop own skill levels in English enabling appropriate support to be provided to learners
- Attend monthly team CPD sessions
**Health and Safety**
- Provide pastoral support for each learner including where appropriate health and wellbeing.
- To be responsible for ensuring that all efforts are taken to ensure a safe working environment for learners and staff.
- Maintain an up to date knowledge of Health and Safety requirements including use of the internet.
- Promote safer learning including e-safety throughout the organisation.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Safeguarding requirements.
- Promote safeguarding including the Government’s PREVENT policy.
**Equality and Diversity**
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of EDI
- Promote and support the wider development and understanding of EDI for learners including British values
- Fully understand and be able to discuss the monthly hot topic programme and actively promote to all learners.
- Role model exemplary EDI behaviours at all times.
- Embed EDI and British values throughout all programmes
**5.** **General**
- Participate in the continual quality improvement process
- Maintain accurate and up to date training plan/diary at all times including occupational competence for vocational areas.
