**About us**
We are recruiting for an HR Administrator to join our growing HR department at Thompsons of York, founded in 1926. Thompsons of York is part of the BATA group, alongside South West Lancashire Farmers (SWLF).
BATA was established as a farmers' cooperative in 1894 at Brandsby, North Yorkshire, 10 miles north of York. Today we are still an agricultural supply cooperative with 4,000 share members. We are animal feed manufacturers, and we also offer a wide range of products, including pet foods, clothing, heating oil, LPG, timber, fencing, horse rugs, seeds or fertiliser, to name just a few.
**About the role**
We are looking for a HR Administrator to join our HR team to provide a high level of HR Administrative support across the organisation.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone beginning their career in HR or has strong administration experience. In this role you will be responsible for maintaining the overall high standards of HR administration duties, with the guidance and support of the HR team.
We are looking for someone who is personable, motivated, and confident, with a strong work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills.
Preferably applicants will have 6 months to 1 years’ experience working in a HR team. An interest or background in agriculture would be advantageous.
**Key responsibilities**
- Responsible for ensuring the department is compliant with all business critical documentation during onboarding process.
- Maintaining and updating databases to ensure records are accurate.
- Creating job adverts and supporting managers with their recruitment needs.
- Carry out induction administration and training with new employees and oversee the probationary review process.
- Support the HR team by attending employee relation meetings by taking notes and advising managers on matters throughout the employee lifecycle.
- Additional miscellaneous duties will include areas in payroll, compliance, retention, recruitment, training & development.
