Walker Fire (UK) Ltd are a UK leading fire protection company with offices across the Country. Due to continued growth, continuous improvement and commitment to growing talent, Walker Fire is looking to recruit a full-time Tender administrator, based from our Head Office Preston.
**The Role**
The Tender Administrator will create technically sound and customer focused content for a large volume of bids across multiple service lines. Typical workloads will involve 80% bid writing/content development and 20% process management, and assisting with the mobilisation of wins.
Applicants must have a proven track record in Bid Writing and be fully conversant with the processes involved with Bids and Pre-Qualification from expression of interest through to award.
**Key Objectives of the Job**:
- **Document Management**: Download, distribute, and upload tender documents, amendments, and queries.
- **Record Keeping**: Maintain accurate records of tenders, submissions, and outcomes.
- **Process Support**: Assist with the completion, production, and submission of prequalification and tender submissions.
- **Portal Management**: Upload documentation and proposals to client portals.
- **Communication**: Facilitate communication between the preconstruction team and other stakeholders.
- **Data Entry**: Enter and update information in relevant systems, such as tender portals and internal tracking systems.
- **Compliance**: Ensure adherence to company procedures and relevant regulations.
- **Research**: Conduct research to identify business development opportunities.
- **Support**: Provide administrative support to bid managers, estimators, and other team members.
- This role requires occasional travel including overnight stays.
- Previous experience of producing bids in a highly regulated and competitive industry.
- Previous experience within a bidding/tender writing environment.
- A willingness to ask questions and challenge.
- Experience at editing and proof reading.
- Good collaborative people skills.
- Confident English and Mathematic skills.
- Can demonstrate comprehension and understand written questions and scope of works.
- Can demonstrate skills in persuasive technical writing to answer a specific question.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent time management.
- Pro-active and strong work ethic.
- Able to multi-task and capable of managing multiple projects.
- Able to work under pressure and against challenging deadlines.
- Can adapt to work swiftly, reactively and to critical deadlines.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Excellent communication skills - written, verbal and presentation.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present information to Internal and external Stakeholders including Senior Management and Customers.
**Essential Requirements**
1+ years’ experience managing the full tendering life cycle.
Excellent analytical, writing and presentation skills.
