**Who are Bird & Blend Tea co?**

Bird & Blend was set up and is run by Krisi and Mike, who met whilst studying Politics (of all things) at university. Starting off packing tea in their bedroom and attending markets, building Bird & Blend from scratch while staying true to their ethos and values has been Krisi and Mike’s passion. Now with an awesome team, multiple retail stores & a thriving international online store, Bird & Blend is leading the way in tea innovation in the UK.

**What is the role?**

Bird & Blend Tea Co's warehouse and shop, aka The Nest, is situated in Woods Way, Worthing. The industrial estate location means our store here is a unique one. You will find our traditional Bird & Blend store set up as well as a cafe serving coffee, breakfast and lunches too

To support in the successful running of the cafe we are looking to recruit a part time team member, working 16 hours per week.

Lianne, our store manager, needs a skilled barista with great attention to detail, efficiency and cleanliness when it comes to all things tea and coffee.

Our new team member will have at least 1 year of experience in a high volume cafe environment, serving quality espresso, steaming milk and mixing up speciality drinks. You should be comfortable working with coffee machines, and have the ability to dial in a Mazzer grinder. Most importantly, you must be able to deliver great tasting tea and coffee in a friendly, engaging and customer-focused manner.
- **What are the responsibilities?**
- To assist in creating a warm and welcoming environment for our customers
- To prepare and serve delicious hot and cold drinks such as tea, coffee, artisan and speciality beverages
- To maintain the coffee making equipment and take responsibility for the effective running of the facilities in the managers absence
- Dealing with customer queries regarding food and drink
- Be knowledgeable in talking about our unique tea blends and comfortable introducing them to new and returning customers
- Sampling our teas to store visitors and at events
- Delivering exceptional service to new and regular customers, building and retaining relationships within the local community

**Does this sound like you?**
- Has a keen interest in tea / coffee
- Barista training, 1 year+
- High standard of personal presentation
- Passionate about customer service and representing Bird & Blend Tea Co
- Experience in a café/bar/retail outlet
- Has a passion for the environment and can support B&B in reaching impact goals set out in the sustainability and impact strategy. We are on the B-Corp Journey
- Wants to work for an ethical brand, alongside like minded people who love to feel empowered daily
