Overview

Brent Lodge Wildlife Hospital is seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team. We are opening up a coffee stand next door to our charity shop and we're looking for 1-2 people to join our team. The hours are 6 hours a day from 8:30-14:30. As this is a new venture, the hours maybe subject to slight change. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages and providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. Your role will involve not only preparing coffee and tea but also ensuring that our customers have an enjoyable experience in our café.

Duties

  • Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
  • Assist with food preparation, including pastries and light snacks, while adhering to hygiene regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service by taking orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Manage time effectively to ensure timely service during peak hours.
  • Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records of sales.
  • Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment.

Skills

  • Previous barista experience is highly desirable, showcasing your ability to create quality beverages.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety practices to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Proficient in serving techniques and customer interaction to enhance the overall experience.
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions and managing cash flow.
  • Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods.

  • An in-date food hygiene certificate is desirable.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: £12.21-£12.31 per hour
