**Job Summary**
As a **Freelance Work and Health Coach**, you will play a vital role in delivering Manchester’s WorkWell Employment and Health Support for Racially Minoritised Groups (WW:RMG) programme that helps people from BAME communities, particularly South Asian community members, with disabilities or health conditions move closer to work, return to work, stay in their current role, or start a new job.. This dual-purpose role involves engaging clients in the community and managing a diverse caseload to address barriers to employment through personalised assessments, health and employment coaching.
You will work closely with clients to develop tailored, SMART Move Into Work Plans, increasing their ability to self-manage, motivation levels, commitment to change and facilitating access to Alchemy Arts’ in-house provision or relevant external services. Additionally, you will act as a community point of contact, delivering services from hubs in **Longsight** and **Cheetham Hill**.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Community Engagement**
- Promote the programme to engage 156 clients with health issues, from BAME communities who are residents of Manchester, who would like support to move into work/retain their employment to access the WW:RMG programme.
- Develop and maintain a database of individuals and organisations to facilitate project participation.
- Identify and establish hubs in **Longsight** and **Cheetham Hill** for community-based service delivery.
- Act as a visible presence in the community, liaising with local organisations, stakeholders, and residents.
- Ensuring the programme achieves its contractual quarterly start on programme targets
**Client Support and Case Management**
- Manage a diverse caseload of clients who are not in employment, providing tailored advice and guidance to address barriers to employment for 84 clients over the lifetime of the programme.
- Conduct personalised assessments to identify physical, mental, and social barriers to work.
- Co-produce Move Into Work Plans with clients, setting SMARTgoals to support their journey toward employment.
- Monitor client progress and adapt plans as needed to reflect changing circumstances.
**Health and Well-Being Interventions**
- Provide health and well-being coaching, to increase motivation, ability to self manage their health conditions and/or bring about behavioural change to support healthy lifestyles/improve self management of health condition(s).
- Deliver group sessions as appropriate
- Signpost or refer clients to local services, such as counselling, benefits/welfare advice, or physical health services.
- Deliver interventions that promote self-management of health challenges, helping clients overcome barriers to work.
**Employment Support**
- Provide practical employment coaching, including CV building, interview techniques, and job brokerage.
- Review and interpret employment contracts and policies to offer accurate advice.
- Support clients to gain ‘better off in work’ calculations
- Demonstrate an understanding of the unique barriers faced by Racially Minoritised Groups and implement strategies to support their employment goals
- Deliver tailored “Managing Your Health In work” sessions for all clients moving into work.
- Engage with employers, to support employers to understand the needs of clients, and to create opportunities.
**Documentation and Reporting**
- Accurately record client information, assessments, thrive to work plans, progress reports, customer satisfaction surveys, ensuring compliance with service requirements.
- Submit timely and complete documentation in line with contractual requirements, ensuring all relevant forms are signed by participants.
- Maintain organised and accessible records to facilitate efficient reporting and analysis.
**Essential Skills and Qualifications**
**Qualifications**:
- Educated to A-level or equivalent.
- **Desirable**: Degree in health, social care, or a related field.
**Experience**:
- 2+ years’ experience in employment coaching, health coaching, and community engagement.
- Proven ability to manage a caseload and meet project deliverables.
