**Summary**:
Assist in carrying out a wide range of responsibilities and day-to-day duties within the Operations Section under the Central Operations and Settlement Department, including:

- Banking Operations Administration
- Drafting and reviewing policy and procedure documents
- Contributing to the team’s operational risk requirements
- Liaising with the organisation’s clearing bank, cover Settlement input when required
- Project involvement and relief duties as required
- Assist in premises management, health & safety and fire safety oversight
- Assist in managing suppliers/outsource entities, sourcing office supplies and equipment

**What You'll be Doing Each Day**:
Process
- Perform banking operations e.g.: cheque book ordering
- Assist in writing and reviewing policy and procedure documents that fall within the scope of the Operations team
- Contribute to ad hoc projects as required by team management and on-going initiatives (such as Environmental, Social & Governance, 'Stop Doing’ and procedural enhancements)
- Contribute to issues relating to the organisation’s clearing bank, for example open credit facility maintenance, transactional enquiries and ad hoc projects
- Cover Settlement input when required
- Administer the Bank’s staff mobile phone provision (additions/cancellations etc.)
- Assist with reporting operational risk issues/events
- Be competent in the responsibilities of the team’s other officers to provide cover where necessary
- Assist with supplier management, premises management, health & safety and fire safety oversight e.g.:

- Liaise with building management and external contractors in handling premises maintenance matters
- Administer the office access pass system
- Contribute to the oversight of health & safety and fire safety responsibilities within the London and other UK branches
- Take part in regular visits to other UK branches, reviewing premises and health & safety aspects
- Communicate with and contribute to the management of suppliers/outsource entities, including verification of invoices, operational risk assessments and site visits
- Source and purchase office supplies and sundry items/equipment

People
- Other Bank departments and branches
- Fire marshal and first aider contributing to oversight of other staff in these positions
- Health and safety inductions for new staff
- Building management staff
- Other external parties including suppliers, outsource entities, service providers, maintenance contractors, clearing bank

Customer
- Relief duties of / as a backup as other colleagues in the department

Compliance & Risk Management
- Comply with all applicable regulations, rules, codes, guidelines and standards set by regulators and the Bank, and carry out duties with high integrity
- Adhere to all established risk control guidelines, procedures and measures to identify, assess, report, mitigate and monitor the risks involved in the day-to-day work

**The Skills You'll Need to Succeed**:
Essential skills:

- Proficient in spoken and written English.
- Proficient in numerical reasoning, Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, Outlook
- Previous banking experience
- Good communicator in all forms. Able to write reports and procedures, research regulatory documentation and translate requirements into operational processes
- Strong customer service and commercial awareness
- Understanding of risk and regulations in the banking environment
- Educated to at least A level standard / previous relevant working experience

Desirable skills:

- Settlement and clearing bank
- Experience in facilities/premises administration
- Project work experience
- Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety / Fire Safety legislation
