Engagement Assistant for Children's Services

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, innovative, and forward-thinking engagement assistant to work in equal partnership with young people and their families, planning and delivering engagement, participation, and co-production activities across the Children’s Division.
The post holder will work closely with, and be supported by, the Engagement Manager for Children’s Services and will play an important part in increasing staff confidence across the division to effectively engage and co-produce with young people.
The post holder must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and enthuse young people of differing ages, backgrounds, experiences, and abilities, to participate in involvement activities. They must have a creative and innovate approach to working with young people, respecting their views, thoughts, and experiences. Supporting children and young people to truly influence, improve and co-produce the care delivered across our Children’s Services. There will be some expectation for flexible working, including the delivery of occasional evening sessions, to meet the needs of young people and be inclusive and accessible to all.
The postholder will assist the Engagement Manager for Children’s Services to plan, promote and deliver involvement, engagement, and participation activities with and for young people. You will receive relevant training and support to help you fulfil these duties. You will contribute to the development and delivery of the Humber Youth Action Group (HYAG) sessions, bringing those aged 11-25 in Hull and the East Riding together with the goal of helping our organisation improve its services for children and young people. The post holder will also develop learning and participation opportunities to enhance members skills, knowledge/training, and confidence. A good knowledge of social media and other digital platforms is desired, to effectively communicate and engage with young people.
