Our public sector client is recruiting for an Interventions Officer on a temporary basis for a 6-month contract. The position is based in Dundee or Glasgow but given the current restrictions, colleagues are currently working from home. This is a full time post working Monday to Friday with an hourly rate of £13.98.

**Due to the nature of this role, successful applicants will require a Basic Disclosure certificate issued within the last 12 months.**

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Investigate and correct errors for multiple benefits, provide accurate advice, using balance of probability decisions to identify root cause error classification and where appropriate, liability status.
- Assess error cases and decide if further evidence will be required to make a benefit determination, based on relevant guidance and legislation.
- Provide recommendations to Team Manager in more complex cases.
- Engaging with clients to request further information and explain the outcome of error correction/ case reviews in writing and on the telephone.
- Provide feedback to operational team leaders on identified errors & error risks, technical advice and support.
- Providing technical insight to working groups/ stakeholders, collaborating with model office to understand error risk and identify mitigation.
- Proactive detection/ innovation in error detection space.
Assess and respond to Targeted Review Campaigns on a set of structured rules and processes.
- Support pilot exercises/ benefit launches to identify the best methods of delivering services.
- Identifying discrepancies that may indicate a fraud risk.
- Instigating appropriate error resolution methods (referral to Debt / issuing arrears).
**Essential Criteria**:

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build good working relationships to collaborate effectively.
- A proven ability to work effectively in a changing environment, using flexibility and initiative to overcome challenges
- Excellent administration and organisational skills (including use of IT) and the ability to prioritise workload to ensure deadlines are met.
