**HHOUSING SUPPORT OFFICER, DUNDEE SURVIVAL GROUP, SALARY: Permanent. Full Time 35 Hours per week £22,292.78 - £23,035.43 depending on qualification, T & T includes 6% company pension scheme and 30 days annual leave.**

The successful applicant will provide housing support to 2 service users resident in our Step Down Accommodation Service and maintain a case load providing generic housing support within our homeless service. You will help service users access specialist services where required this includes Social Work, Mental Health Services and Drug and Alcohol Recovery Services. - produce individual support plans. The aim is to address their housing needs and work in partnership with health, housing and other related statutory services to prepare and empower service users to live independently. You will have experience of working with vulnerable people, including some knowledge of people affected by physical health needs, substance misuse, and other complex health issues.

The successful applicant will have/will:

- SVQ Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or equivalent in a related field (or be willing to work towards)
- Have knowledge of Homelessness and complex needs
- Be enthusiastic, motivated and able to communicate in an empathic way with people who may present with challenging support needs and behaviours
- Have a good understanding of the needs of vulnerable people
- Have excellent time management and organisational skills
- Recognise the need to be responsive and adaptable to the needs of the service delivery and service users
- Support and assist SUs in crisis situations, and/or manage physical risk or behaviour likely to cause incidents, in accordance with the support plan.
- Have a good understanding of the causes and effects of social exclusion as is relevant to the service and area in which you work.
- Have a significant knowledge and experience of harm reduction interventions.
- Have awareness of drug overdose and prevention interventions.
- Have strong dynamic risk assessment skills.
- Experience using a computer, inputting and up-dating information electronically and in written form
- Have an ability to work within a team context with good communication skills and creativity in order to encourage people to work towards independence
- Require a PVA Disclosure check.
