- _Work closely with children to understand their unique needs, implementing personalised care plans that help them grow and thrive._

- _Act as a key worker for specific children, advocating for their needs and collaborating with families, schools, and external agencies._

- _Lead shifts and support the care team to deliver consistent, high-quality care._
- _Inspire, mentor, and supervise team members, promoting a culture of learning and collaboration._
- _Provide guidance and feedback to staff, helping them to grow and develop in their roles._

**Keeping Things Running Smoothly**
- _Ensure all records are accurate and up to date, including daily logs, care plans, and incident reports._
- _Play a key role in ensuring the home meets health, safety, and safeguarding standards._
- Support the home manager with audits, inspections, and ongoing improvements_

**What we need**

**Qualifications and Education**
- Level 3 Diploma Children and Children’s Workforce or equivalent. _(essential)_
- Level 5 Diploma in children, Young People and Families manager - residential care _(or willingness to work towards)._

**Experience**
- A minimum of 1 year’ experience in a position relevant to the residential care of children.

**Knowledge and understanding**
- Children’s Home Regulations and Quality Standards 2015, Single Social Care Inspection Framework (SSCIF), Children Act 1989, Children and Families Act 2014, Care Standards Act 2000, Children Act 2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children 2024, Health and Safety at work and associated guidance and regulation.
- Policies and procedures pertaining to running a residential children’s home.
- Child protection, safeguarding children, impact of abuse and neglect, education, and health needs of looked after children, equality and diversity and children’s rights.
- Care and placement planning, risk, and review processes.
- Understanding of the education, health, social, emotional, and psychological needs of looked after children and Children and how to ensure these needs are met.

Pay: £33,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
