Job description

Temporary for 12 months, 37 hours per week.

The post is suitable for home working/flexible working style, your office base is Riverside House, Main Street, Rotherham.

We have an exciting opportunity available within the organisation for someone who has a flare for creating great digital content.

**About the role**

You will develop, test, and refine effective user journeys, and create engaging digital content that delivers a consistent user experience and is responsive to user needs. Accessibility will be deeply embedded in your approach. The post-holder will also provide advice, consultancy, training, and support for a wide range of content contributors across the council.

**Key requirements**

Excellent communication and writing skills with a creative flair for developing engaging and accessible digital content.

Understanding user needs, creating and co-creating content, publishing, evaluating, and archiving.

Giving strategic guidance and advice on the most appropriate content, and an understanding of when to edit or remove that content.

Advising, producing and editing content that meets both the business and user needs.

An excellent ability to work with a wide range of people and teams.

**Experience and Skills**

Significant experience of writing content for an online audience.

Experience of developing and implementing content strategies and content planning.

Experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital content that engages the audience.

Experience of managing or supervising a small team.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.

Strong proof-reading skills.

Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with a wide range of people.

Ability to work as part of a team.

Ability to work on own initiative and to deadlines.
