External Training Team Lead

**About the role**
To lead a team of highly customer focused CBT Facilitators that in turn, supports the achievement of wider business objectives. Team Leaders provide a performance driven, commercially minded, organised approach within the External Training Management & Process services.
On a day-to-day basis the Team Leader will Supervise a team of experienced CBT Facilitators, who are responsible for groups of learners attending either full or half day computer-based training programmes. Team Leaders are expected to handle high level, non-routine queries, highly experienced in the use of the National Grid Learning Management System (LMS), providing support and guidance to lesser experienced colleagues.
Team Leaders are expected to provide Project Management skills to deliver continuous improvement initiatives within the department and support wider business initiatives. The Team Leader will be expected when necessary to travel to other National Grid or external organisations to attend meetings / undertake tasks associated with their role or project work.

**Operational Responsibilities**: Manage team performance through Delivering Performance processesImplement Academy planning and delegate management processes consistently across National Grid. Coordinate day-to-day workload amongst team. Pro-actively lead the provision of an excellent Learning & Development service to National Grid with an emphasis on quality customer service. Review resource constraints/opportunities and address through the movement of resources or work to ensure productivity and performance is maximised. Provide support to colleagues in times of peak workload, sickness, or holiday.Develop strong working relationships with all departments involved in the Learning process.Monitor and maintain the highest levels of data accuracy. Keep updated on new policies, procedures, and codes of practice to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the business. Work with internal and external training providers to establish optimised training delivery plans across National Grid. Work within and promote the philosophy of safe team working and development across all National Grid activities to achieve business objectives and continuously improve performance.
**Quality Control**: Support National Grid ensuring all CBT training material and guidance is up to date, valid and visible. Verify delegate prerequisites and ensure the highest level of accuracy with training authorisations uploaded to the EUSR database. Ensure compliance with new initiatives. Promote safety, health, and security within own and the wider team whilst ensuring the environmental impacts of activities are minimised wherever possible.
**Communication**: Communicate effectively with customers, the Learning management team and own team to support the delivery of Computer Based Training across multiple sites, delegate management and administration services. Actively demonstrate and promote the National Grid values.
**Continuous Improvement**: Manage the CBT Facilitation team, providing assistance in an efficient & effective manner in line with HR business objectives. Take a lead role with the development of new systems and processes. Identify and implement process improvements/best practices. Engender and operate in a culture of zero tolerance of accidents and self-inflicted incidents.
**Key Accountabilities**
- Take own responsibility to provide quality responses to calls received from external contacts using own knowledge and experience and deal with bespoke data request.
- Organize meetings and diary management in order to maximize the Band A time.
- Organize large-scale events.
- Able to manage and influence key stakeholders.
- Make full and complex travel and accommodation itineraries.
- Summarize papers and reports in preparations for meetings, act as technical secretary.
- Design and develop spreadsheets and databases and manipulate data by using a range of spreadsheet formulas and macros.
- Understand specialized processes or systems in the areas which is supported.
- Business and technical knowledge, covering multiple areas gained from experience.
- Oversee work of less experienced administrators.
- Ensures compliance to policies and procedures.
- Contribute to development of systems and processes within the department.
- Maintain budgets.
- Stakeholders: Band A’s and their teams, government and other external bodies.
