**About Hanbury Distillery**

Hanbury Gin was born with one hope: to develop a new London Gin with greater flavour, character, and quality. As a result, Islington’s newest distillery opened in 2021.

Hanbury is a premium London Gin inspired by London’s rich gin history and the heritage and character of Islington.

Our little distillery is tucked away among the houses on the corner of Linton Street and Mary Street in Islington, London. It is here that our gin is handcrafted in small batches using traditional methods in our beautiful 140-litre copper still, which stands proud for all to see in The Hanbury, Islington.

We take great pride in the quality of our gins. Every batch of our gin is tasted by an expert panel to ensure that there are no compromises or shortcuts. Our gin is slowly distilled by hand, by real people with real passion for gin.

Hanbury Distillery has seen huge growth in the customer & wholesaler business over recent months, as such, this is an extremely exciting time to join the brand as Head Distiller, as we consider plans for expansion, site development, and operation enhancements. Find out more about the role below:
**Head Gin Distiller at Hanbury Distillery - The Role**:

- Producing the three blends of Hanbury Gin: London Dry, Orange & Thyme, Rhubarb & Rose
- Ensuring the operation is fully compliant with all regulations
- Distilling, Bottling/Pouching, Labelling, Sealing and all aspects of quality assurance
- Development and delivery of the operations plan to ensure that spirit supply is in line with customer demand
- Managing all aspects of production and including scheduling, raw material purchasing and stock control & dispatch, distillery cleaning and maintenance of distillery equipment and instrumentation, and identifying and reporting maintenance requirements and potential distillery equipment failures.
- Managing the distillery on-site operations, including all checks, recording data and monitoring
- Product development when required and continually striving to maintain the highest quality blend of gin as crops/ingredients change with seasons etc.
- Supporting the Sales & Operations Manager with on-site or off-site product tastings for new and prospective customers (on-trade, off-trade and general public), as well as selling/promoting Hanbury Gin at relevant consumer events
- Identifying, implementing and championing continuous improvement to the production, process, best practice and customer expansion of Hanbury Gin.
- In time, to be part of the team recruiting a second distiller.

**Head Gin Distiller at Hanbury Distillery - Skills & Experience required**:

- Spirit distilling qualifications and experience are highly desirable.
- Knowledge of food/drink health, safety and hygiene requirements
- Appreciation for independent gins and spirits with modern twist on classic flavours
- Passion for the distillation process, the production of gin within an operational environment, and the growth of an upcoming, independent London brand with the human touch and authenticity at its heart.
- Understanding of the complexities of operations and being flexible to adapt to potential changing schedule requirements over time as demand increases.
- Understanding of and appreciation for the requirement to provide customers with an exceptionally high quality product.
- Ability to sell and market products; confident face to face with customers to lead tastings and events (where necessary).
- Showing attention to detail in all aspects of work and commitment in excellence, high quality, and craftsmanship in all areas of the process and way of working.

**Role details**
- Part-Time Hours of ideally Monday 8.30am - 5.30pm plus one other day during the week 8.30am-5.30pm (with the prospect of transitioning to full-time as demand grows) Days/Hours can be discussed on interview
- Additional/overtime hours will occasionally be offered or required.
- Weekend work may be required during such times as there are events/significant customer orders or increased distilling demands.
