At 186 Portobello Road, in the heart of Notting Hill, lies The Distillery; a four-floor mecca for the discerning drinker. The first of its kind in the UK. We are not only a fully functioning distillery but also home to internationally renowned Portobello Road Gin, and the critically acclaimed gin-blending experience, The Ginstitute. Within the venue we have two bars, a private dining room and three guest lodgings.

Our bartenders and instructors craft amazing drinks for our guests. Not only with our own brand, Portobello Road Gin, but also with our Distillates of Gin and Vodka created in our 400l Copper Still and top quality spirits from leading purveyors of Agave, Rum, Bourbon and Whisky matched with the finest ingredients.

We’re on the hunt for a confident, dynamic, outgoing, enthusiastic, reliable and friendly Spirit Instructors, who have the flair to present at The Ginstitute.

Our guests arriving for The Ginstitute, Whiskey Thing Agave Sessions and Fine Dinning Experiences will enjoy the presentations that take them through the history of Gin and assisting them with crafting their own personal blend of Gin. You may well run one of Our Masterclasses, or The Whiskey Thing, our Agave sessions and be an entertaining Host during one of our The Distillery Presents Evenings.

This role not only gives you the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge of Spirits, but also the flair to present and guide our guests through The Ginstitute and The Distilling Experiences.

We are looking the right person, who wishes to broaden and develop their career in the hospitality and spirits trade. You must have commitment to delivering engaging and exceptional customer service as part of a talented team.

The right person will:

- Have bags of creativity and a passion for the hospitality industry.
- A desire to demonstrate their knowledge of Spirits, but also to learn even more.
- Have a desire to be part of a passionate team, chosen by highly regarded industry experts.
- Be able to deliver exceptional guest service skills and have experience in exceeding guest expectations and setting the standards for the team.
- Be confident in building rapport with guests and have a desire to share their knowledge in an informative and friendly manner.
- Be confident in the ability to build and keep an atmosphere within The Ginstitute to ensure the guests and co-workers are having fun.
- Actively educate themselves and have a passion to continually develop your knowledge and skill.
- Work well under pressure and be an effective multitasker.
