The HR Dept. Cambridgeshire provides a fully outsourced Human Resource service to small and medium sized businesses within Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire.
The HR Dept - This is HR outsourcing, so all of our clients have different contracts, different holiday entitlement and different sick pay arrangements. It’s not only the employment terms that are different but also the workplace culture and the personalitiesthat you’re supporting. One minute you might be advising on an issue in a manufacturing company, the next you could be dealing with a CEO of a Charity or on site chairing a disciplinary hearing.
We are joining forces with one of our clients, Comtec Cables Accessories Ltd, one of the UK's largest value-added distributors of Internet Protocol (IP) infrastructure, to recruit a HR professional.
Employed by the HR Dept. you will work 3 days per week at the Comtec office in Huntingdon providing generalist HR support and 2 days per week providing a professional HR consultancy service to support the HR Dept clients with a particular emphasis on employeerelations.
**Please note: This can be a full-time position working in both roles or the roles can be separated to create 2 separate part-time/flexible positions.**
**Key Duties - HR Dept**:
- Provide our full range of HR services to clients, from one off casework and support to managers through to proactive policy design, review and drafting of contracts, developing handbooks, recruiting for staff. This may involve attending client sites, conductingformal meetings and investigations, running redundancy programmes etc.
- Implement strategies to obtain new clients with the development of marketing and PR materials
- Support with the design and delivery of training workshops and seminars
- Comtec - Seconded to Comtec and reporting to the Finance and HR Director you will work on site at their offices in Huntingdon. You will act as the first point of contact for HR-related queries from employees and Managers
**Main Duties**:
- Assist and support Managers in full employee lifecycle from starter to leaver including recruitment, employment contracts, induction, performance management, employee relations, learning and development, pay and benefits
- Provide advice and contribute to the development of HR policies and procedures, to ensure they reflect good practice and meet legislative requirements
- Report regularly on HR metrics, such as company turnover
- Prepare payroll information and liaise with outsourced payroll specialist by providing relevant employee information
**Qualifications and Skills**:
**Essential**:
- CIPD qualified (or studying towards)
- Experience providing a generalist HR service in the private sector
- Ability to working on your own initiative and handle conflicting priorities
- Excellent administration skills with great attention to detail
- Proven ability to build lasting and credible relationships
- Excellent understanding and use of Word, Excel and Outlook
- Full driving licence and access to own car
**Desirable**:
- Experience of chairing disciplinary/grievance meetings/leading investigations
- Working in a HR Consultancy role
