**Senior Finance Business Partner** **041775** **Organisation** - Chief Finance Officer **Job** - General Finance **Position Type** - Full Time **Salary: £80,000 - £85,000 per annum, plus benefits** **Location: Hybrid working (Southwark, London), 2 days per week minimum office based** **Type: 1x Permanent TfL contract, 1x 6-month Fixed Term Contract** **Overview of role** Working in the Chief Operating Office (COO) Finance team partnering elements of the Bus Operations business. This covers operating contracts to the value of over £2bn, running our service network that delivers over 1.5bn customer journeys a year, Victoria Coach Station, and our Mobility transport schemes including Dial-a-Ride. You will be a trusted and influential member of the business partner leadership team, shaping and supporting strategic and operational decision making by providing insight, challenge and advice combined with financial management and stewardship of operational budgets. The role requires a team player who can work across remits, manage extensive stakeholder groups and lead on the value agenda. You will be responsible for all aspects of the financial management of contracts, resourcing, performance analysis and project activity. You will lead the delivery of comprehensive financial performance reporting and budgeting and forecasting activity. You’ll review and challenge business area periodic performance and also manage financial and cash flow analysis. The role will require strong commercial, planning, analytical and problem-solving skills (including financial modelling) combined with experience of developing strong business partnering relationships and delivering significant cost saving programmes and supporting transformation. We are looking for self-motivated, enthusiastic finance professionals who are team players and keen to make an impact and work with a dynamic and friendly team that keeps London moving. **Key Accountabilities** - Leads and develops effective business partner relationships with the client directorate at all levels. Ensures that Senior Managers have an integrated view of financial performance, with early warning on significant changes in expected performance/costs/income along with clear corrective actions. - Manages preparation of the business plan, budget and the maintenance of the forecast and with focus on associated risk and opportunities - Formulate plans to maximise financial and business performance (including maximising revenue and efficiencies delivery) through the provision of high quality performance information and effective business partnering and stakeholder engagement. - Supports and challenges Sponsors, Directors and Senior Managers using investment and project appraisal techniques and models to support effective decision making on project and investments proposals. - Ensures the validity of all information with a financial consequence originating from the partner business function; from the underlying accounting transactions captured in Business Services Function to information presented to internal boards and committees or into the public domain - Accountable for ensuring full financial control and management is in place, including working capital management, although the majority of these processes and controls will be completed in the Business Services Function. - Manages the capability and drives the development of the Finance Business Partnering team and assist in developing training for non-finance managers and budget holders to improve commercial and financial skills. - To provide inspirational leadership to achieve behavioural changes and to create a "can do" culture across the directorate. **Skills, Knowledge & Experience** **Skills** - Variance and Financial/Budgetary Analysis (Expert) - Forecasting (Expert)-Systems and Software (Experience) - Commercial acumen and knowledge of contracts (Experience) - Cost Accounting (Expert) - Business Case Analysis, Development and Assurance (Experience) - Risk and control (Experience) - Professional Accounting principles and standards (Practitioner) - Management reporting and external reporting and ad-hoc communication (Practitioner) **Knowledge** - Educated to degree level or equivalent. - Numerate and experience and understanding of Finance and accounting - Qualified CCAB (Desirable) - Experience of building strong relationships and managing complex stakeholders relationships across the business. Confident in and having the gravitas to partner with the business as a credible finance professional. - Experience of building on and leveraging resources/networks across the business to achieve business objectives. **Experience** - Must have demonstrable experience of managing and developing high performing finance teams. - Experience in managing delivery of key management accounting services to time, budget and quality. - Extensive experience working in a business environment with senior management with demonstrab
