**Permanent Job - Spirit Supply Operator - FMCG Production (Back Shift)**

**Please note that the salary for this position is for a fully trained, experienced operator. In addition this position commands a 16% premium for working back shift hours.**

We are a business that are leading the way in the processing and bottling of alcoholic beverages for many international and leading brands from our Broxburn based site. The continuous success and development of the business created the opportunity to recruit additional experienced spirit supply staff to join us on our journey.

The role:

- The receipt,
- Reduction,
- Filtration and
- Processing of spirit for both bulk exports and bottling hall orders in a safe, quality conscious, cost effective, efficient and continually improving environment.

Main responsibilities:
**1. **Health, Safety and legislation compliance**
- Comply with H&S, customs and excise requirements and legislation in accordance with site safety standards. Report any discrepancies to your Spirit Supply Team Leader.
- Manage Workplace risks through risk assessments and process controls.
- Ensure you only carry out tasks that you are competent to perform, based on robust SOP’s. Support the Spirit Supply Team Leader in ensuring that this are accurate and kept up to date.

**2. **Spirit handling**
- Receipt of spirit to site through either tanker, cask or IBC
- Spirit reduction, colouring and addition of any required ingredients in line with customer requirements.
- Spirit supply to production lines in accordance with quality specifications and production plan.
- Chill filtration of spirit to customer specification and approval to proceed
- Single cask process against customer specification ensuring to minimise any potential losses to get the greatest outturn from the operation
- Support the Spirit Supply Team Leader in investigating the root causes for any loses outwith tolerances and identify and ensure adequate corrective/preventative actions are implemented to prevent future recurrence.

**3. **Asset care and performance.**
- Operate and maintain designated machinery, including forklift trucks, attachments, scanners, strapping machine etc. (all training will be provided).
- Work collaboratively with the Engineering team to enable and support planned maintenance activities.

**4. **Continuous Improvement**
- Identify solutions to support and promote safe and hygienic ways of working and minimise spirit losses.
- Share best practice through shift and across all teams, standardising against best solutions.
- Participate in problem solving exercises and actively suggest improvements related to your area.
- Actively engage in training and development activities in line with company’s initiatives.
- Ensure that proper housekeeping standards and cleaning of work environment is adhered to.

Knowledge and specific job skills

**Essential**
- Previous experience in vatting or spirit business
- Experience working under BRC guidelines
- H&S awareness training/induction
- Experience in food safety practices
- Experience in food hygiene practices
- Knowledge of production planning systems
- Good communication skills, written and verbal
- IT literate
- Resilient and flexible with possible short notice operational changes.

**Desirable**
- Tropos ERP system
- Cask handling knowledge
- ATEX environment knowledge
- DSEAR awareness/training
- FLT licence
