The role holder will support and advise Academic Schools with international working arrangements. They will advise and undertake global compliance processes to ensure international payrolls, tax, social security, rights to work, pensions, employment contracts& rights, and healthcare meet global compliance requirements.

**Description**
- Responsibility for the timely and accurate payroll input, validation, transmission, report creation, and monthly reconciliation, whilst ensuring the University remains compliant with regional and country specific payroll regulations and corporate policiesfor multiple international Payrolls.
- Ensure all payroll data is compliant with applicable legislation
- Work with the in-house Systems Team and stakeholders to specify data requirements - design and produce a variety of reports to identify relevant information, patterns, and trends, undertake analysis to assist with decision making and monitor progress.
- Mitigates risk by engaging with foreign tax authorities and HMRC early in the case planning process to ensure compliance requirements are clear. Where conflicting advice is received, refer to the International Mobility Manager.
- Maintains regular contact with HR Business Partners, Employee Services Hub, School Managers and Heads of Schools to educate on international legislation, legislative changes, associated on-costs, internal and external timescales.
- Works with internal and external stakeholders to plan key dates for each case. Establish and manage an overseas worker calendar/key dates project plan
- Identifies areas of high risk and seeks to mitigate risk by working closely with their appropriate manager.
- Many cases will be complex and multifaceted. The role holder will need to provide assertive guidance in line with country laws, policies, procedures, and best practice.
- Resolves day to day payroll queries
- Keep abreast of changes in employment legislation, higher education, best practice generally, and build this into policy and process development as appropriate.

**Profile**
- A level or equivalent level of general education or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum of 2 years UK payroll experience or a qualification in bookkeeping or payroll
- Some exposure to International Payroll
- Strong organisational skillsExperience of working in an external/internal customer facing advisory capacity
- Experience of working with suppliers to provide solutions
- Proven ability to work with highly confidential information, while always maintaining discretion and integrity.
- Proven team player, self-motivated, innovative and solution minded.
