Becoming a Valuation and Council tax/Business Rates Administrator with Capita Local Government

Location: Home-based

**Salary**: £20,750 per annum

Working hours: 37.5 hours, Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm

Valuation and Accounts Officer

We are now seeking Valuation/Council tax/Business Rates Administrators who will be responsible for managing rate payer enquires via phone and written correspondence and will be updating rate payer accounts held on our databases.

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Enabling the efficient collection and recovery of Council tax and business rates
- Keeping the Council’s Revenues records accurate and up to date
- Provide advice and guidance on the valuation, collection and recovery of council tax and business rates to customers using various mediums.
- Preparing payments; ensuring they are issued correctly, logging and responding to any queries/problems that may arise from them
- Maintaining up to date and accurate charging base by inputting data from Valuation Lists.

**What we’re looking for**
- Ability to organise workload effectively against targets
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
- Computer literate on IT systems and the ability to learn in-house systems. Training will be given
- Ability to demonstrate a good understanding of procedures and standards
- Meticulous approach to detail
- Flexibility to work across different teams or locations when required
- Good written and spoken communication skills
- Good numerical skills
