Your new role

As the Principal Data and Information Governance Manager you will provide Technical leadership for information & data assets within National Highways. You will also own the National Highways policy for the management of data & information assets to supportdelivery of corporate objectives.
What you’ll be leading on
- Lead the production and maintenance of company policy and strategy for data and information to deliver the company strategic objectives.
- Management of the monetisation of data and information assets
- Champion data leadership throughout the company. Support the specification of required competences and mentor and challenge data and information professionals in all parts of National Highways.
- Identify and support the development of statute and external regulations and standards to protect the interests of National Highways; determine the technical requirements necessary to comply with these and reflect in company documentation.
- Lead and deliver the data and information assurance regime including the verification of the condition and performance of data and information assets
- Engage in the development of technical recommendations arising from formal investigations and other investigations into significant safety or performance affecting failures.
- Lead corporate records management policy activities to enable National Highways to deliver objectives and remain compliant with legislative, regulatory and technical developments.

To be successful
- Data Communication - Turn complex data into clear, simple, and actionable stories. Share data communication skills with the team and across National Highways.
- Data Governance - Ensure data governance supports changes to the organisational strategy. Align data governance with wider governance (e.g. budget). Assure corporate services by understanding key risks and mitigation through assurance mechanisms.
- Data Innovation - Identify areas of innovation in data tools and techniques and recognises appropriate timing for adoption.
- Problem Resolution (Data) - Anticipate problems and knows how to prevent them. Understand how the problem fits into the larger picture. Articulate the problem and helps others to articulate the problem. Builds problem-solving capabilities in others.
