Compliance & Operations Controller

**Overview of Role**
Responsible for supporting the daily operation of the Transport Desk, managing driver vehicle compliance ensuring fleet is safe, and legally compliant.
This includes constantly monitoring and managing all servicing, MOT, and vehicle defects to ensure they are under control and legally compliant. Additionally, making sure all drivers have access to working time directive and tachograph information to handle regulatory restrictions.
The role requires an exceptional communicator with effective interpersonal skills as well as the capacity to operate independently in a demanding, fast-paced environment with a wealth of knowledge in transport legislation and fleet management.
**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Ensure all assets are inspected, MOT’d and repaired to schedule
- Complete, update and control the weekly inspection calendar
- Manage breakdown and call out use and proforma matching
- Ensure the internal maintenance systems are kept up to date a document controlled via timely uploads
- Ensure the fleet list is kept up to date
- Monitoring driver and vehicle compliance, tachograph infringements, WTD, drivers’ hours, vehicle and driver downloading
- Monitoring the license checking system for driver licence and CPC expiry
- Ensure all asset documentation is received and stored
- Ensure all drivers have the correct training sign offs, including tail-lifts and induction documents
- Conduct monthly tail lift audits via vehicle CCTV
- Conduct investigations into vehicle and personal accidents
- Manage uniform requests and inventory of stock levels
- Update and manage the company driver mobile phones and satellite navigation receivers
- Yard marshalling in the mornings - assisting the drivers with any issues they may have and encouraging timely yard departures
- Pump truck management and repairs
- Assisting the transport office in the afternoons by answering the phones to any queries relating to deliveries or collections
- Oversee tyre maintenance schedule with tyre maintenance provider
**Person Specification**
Excellent communication skills, team player, personable, calm, strong attention to detail, ability to influence, self-motivated, analytical with commercial awareness, problem solver and strategic thinker, PC literate with a good understanding of Microsoft excel.
**Salary**: £25,000.00 per year
