Head of Construction Sales

**Job Summary**
**Purpose**
Day to day management and accountability for the business performance of Global’s Construction Division, including but not limited to sales, service, parts, customer experience. Our Head of Construction must deliver growth in line within business objectives, both Global’s and OEM. P&L accountable for the division and responsible for sustainable growth in capital equipment and aftersales. Maintaining and sustaining employee engagement as well as ensuring adequate staffing levels to fulfil business targets. Focused on customer engagement and retention.
**Duties**
- Sales strategic accountability, including CRM usage, forecasting and territory planning - look for opportunities across growth markets
- Maintain a healthy relationship across customer network, OEM Suppliers and regions
- Growth of Product sales and Aftermarket including service contracts
- Weekly communication with Sales Team on performance, win/loss analysis and reporting
- Development and training of Sales Managers
- Manage key account targets for territory
- Enhance go to market offers to increase profitable sale
- Ensure Deal Sheet technical accuracy across the team accounting for provisions such as PDI, delivery, install and warranty.
- Forecast accuracy into Global CRM system
- Performance Measurement in respect of:
- Ordering Accuracy, timeliness of orders
- Reduction in Gross Profit erosion
- Customer retention
- Recommend suppliers aligned with Global supply base and ensure supplier relationships (third party attachments) upheld.
- Raise internal and external awareness of our Product offering within Global across network.
- Assist with recruiting and upskilling aftermarket teams
- Assist with development of the aftermarket team, manage and uphold efficiencies and utilisation.
- Marketing interaction with Global Marketing department including forecasting and planning strategic timings, PR & communication
- Ensuring orders are accurately recorded and inventory ordered is appropriate for the needs of the customer according to build sheets
- Attend shows and events to maximise sales
- Part exchange policy adherence
- Attend manufacturer factories with prospects/customers
- Leading, management and employee engagement with Health & Safety
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies targeting construction industry clients, including territory management and lead generation initiatives.
- Lead, motivate, and manage the construction sales team to achieve revenue targets and expand market share.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Identify new business opportunities through market analysis, networking, cold calling, and direct outreach efforts.
- Conduct product demonstrations and technical sales presentations tailored to client needs.
- Manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting to closing, including negotiation and upselling strategies.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to develop targeted campaigns that support business development efforts.
- Utilize CRM software such as Salesforce or other CRM tools to track leads, manage customer data, and analyze sales performance metrics.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to inform strategic planning.
- Provide regular reports on sales activities, pipeline status, and forecasted revenue growth to senior management.
**Skills**
- Proven experience in outside sales, B2B sales, territory management, and account management within the construction or related industries.
- Strong management skills with experience leading a sales team toward achieving strategic goals.
- Expertise in business development, lead generation, cold calling, and direct sales techniques.
- Proficiency with CRM software such as Salesforce or similar platforms for managing customer relationships and analyzing data.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a focus on upselling and closing deals effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct product demos and technical presentations tailored to client needs.
- Exceptional customer service skills combined with a consultative approach to building long-term relationships.
- Analytical skills for market analysis, performance tracking, and strategic planning.
- Knowledge of marketing strategies relevant to technology or product sales within the construction sector is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and present ideas clearly. Pay: £60,000.00-£120,000.00 per year
