Overview:
The Forward Trust, are a UK leading provider of drug and alcohol treatment services to offenders. We deliver treatment and recovery support - in prisons and in the community - which helps people move away from addiction and crime. These services provide a variety of support, including advice, counselling, group work and intensive treatment. At The Forward Trust we believe that all people who are addicted to or misusing substances should have access to support which is effective in protecting their health, and motivating them to take steps towards their own recovery. Over 20 years of pursuing this mission, we have been successful in moving thousands of drug dependent offenders away from a lifestyle revolving around crime, and drug or alcohol dependence.

What you will be doing?:
The Recovery Support Team offers support to RAPt graduates and Forward service users committed and engaged in a recovery pathway, including those with complex needs to transition and settle back into the community.
The team adopts a person centred support service to enable service users to sustain and maintain their recovery, and fulfil their best potential.
We aim to work in partnership with many agencies giving them the opportunity to offer their services to our members, ensuring that every client has access to a holistic service.
You will receive formal Line Management support on a quarterly basis however, the expectation is that you will have open dialogue with your Manager between sessions to clarify any points.
Some of the Key Responsibilities of the role are as follows:
- To provide a comprehensive, inclusive and bespoke Recovery Service, including advice and guidance to Forward Trust clients.
- Conducting robust needs assessments to ensure service user needs are identified and a bespoke care plan is created with the service user at the centre, including signposting to other internal and external services.
- You will assist the Recovery Team Leader to implement a comprehensive, robust strategy in line with the Forward Trust Business Plan.
- You will ensure that a holistic service is delivered safely to our clients in line with individual and team targets outlined by the Team Leader.
What we are looking for?:
- A thorough knowledge of the needs of clients who are in abstinence based recovery
- Experience of assessing adults in need of support around substance misuse and maintaining abstinence based recovery
- Good oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate professionally with a diverse range of clients and customers including those who may be vulnerable and/or displaying challenging behaviour.
- Experience of constructing comprehensive person centred care plans for vulnerable clients (including substance misuse)
- A positive problem solving approach with the ability to focus on key issues quickly and clearly.
