We are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly person to join our team as a **Recovery Champion**. With this role you’ll be working as part of the Hospital Engagement Team, based in Hull Royal Infirmary. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team you will work with those who are directly impacted by their own substance misuse and the people who care for them, family members and friends; as well as working with key partners to empower communities.

**Hours**: 37.5hrs per week

**Salary**: £23,400 - £24,466.99

**Responsibilities**:
**About the role**:

- To work with service users initiating, building, and utilising recovery capital to move into long term sustained recovery.
- To work with service users, supporting the delivery of one-to-one intervention as required within a hospital setting.
- To work across the trust alongside other Renew colleagues and external partners within Hull Royal Infirmary.
- Meet individuals within the hospital to discuss their personal goals regarding their treatment and recovery.
- To support the hospital engagement workers with day-to-day tasks relevant to your role.
- To engage and re-engage service users into treatment by way of brief interventions, triage and assessments.
- Attend team meetings/group supervision with the aim of sharing good practice and finding solutions.
- Utilise existing local resources and build local community awareness, signposting to relevant agencies.

**About you**:

- Lived experience of drug or/and alcohol misuse.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with good IT skills.
- Be able to build relationships with individuals with multiple needs, whilst remaining empathetic and non-judgemental towards Service Users.
- Confident in working alone as well as part of a team.
- Can remain calm under pressure.
- Able to travel as required, including where public transport is not available.
