We are seeking a Band 3 STR worker to support clients to achieve their life goals within a broader package of care, by flexibly providing psychological, social and practical support.
CENS is a fast-paced, forward-thinking, psychologically-informed team working with individuals who may receive a diagnosis of personality disorder. We offer multi-agency/service joint working e.g. joint meetings with clients; supporting care plan development; providing psychoeducation; time-limited interventions; professionals meetings; supervision/consultation; and training.
We are keen to hear from applicants who are interested in undertaking further training, particularly to become a skills trainer for the community DBT service which enjoys a close working relationship with the team, and for other possible tasks in future, for example in monitoring the physical health of clients.
The Complex Emotional Needs Service (CENS) offers care co-ordination to a small number of clients aged 18+ with complex presentations and experiences. We also provide consultation to services across the organisation and in partner agencies, and support in the transition of young people from CAMHS to adult mental health services.
**Key aspects of your role will be**:
- Supporting clients to appointments and activities that support their recovery and progress towards their goals (e.g. medical appointments, social engagement activities, moving house, recovery college) on an individual and group basis
- Co-facilitating DBT skills training alongside registered healthcare professionals
- Supporting clients to develop basic skills for living
- Supporting clients in preparing for employment (e.g. support with job seeking) and maintaining financial security (e.g. benefits, bills)
- Providing informal support to carers and relatives of clients
- Supporting clients to engage in psychoeducational or self-help interventions
- Supporting clients in programmes of psychologically-informed intervention (e.g. graded exposure hierarchies for anxiety)
- Accurately recording own activity
