This is an exciting time to join the CYP MH function, following a recent restructure we have enhanced the clinical voice within our leadership team and introduced both a function clinical lead and 2 experienced and enthusiastic registered clinical leads into the senior leadership team. This is to ensure that we are truly living our ethos of being clinically led and managerially supported.
Our 2 areas are supported by a full time Service Manager and cover the below;
CAMHS(including Core CAMHS, Childrens Eating Disorders, Intensive Support and Early Years)
Neurodevelopmental(Including Autism, Learning Disabilities, Keyworkers and ADHD)
There are 2 x 0.4wte posts
We are seeking a clinician with experience in collaborative community-based working, with knowledge/experience in each of the relevant specialities above.
The purpose of these roles are to establish clinical leadership for relevant service area, in accordance with Trust values, ensuring the delivery of effective, efficient and high quality services for patients and their families / carers. The post holder is expected to work in conjunction with Operational Managers to develop and deliver safe and effective services, in accordance with key national targets, clinical standards, service priorities and performance indicators set by local commissioners and Trust policies.
This post is expected to work in partnership with commissioners and other partner agencies to provide multi-agency services that achieve the best possible outcomes for patients accessing the service. This post will provide specialist clinical advice, direction and guidance to the service and function leadership team. The Clinical Lead will agree objectives for delivery in conjunction with the Service Managers and Function Clinical lead, taking into account service priorities and the time available to effectively deliver in the role of Service Clinical Lead.
The post-holder will be expected to hold a clinical post or have specialist clinical expertise within the service area.
Our function covers the provision of services aimed to promoting and improving children's mental health. We aim to provide timely assessment and interventions for children, young people and their families where there are mental health needs, Learning disabilities or autism. We aim to proactively improve children's health and wellbeing and to work in partnership to provide integrated care with our partners.
We’re currently involved in the assessment, care and treatment of children and young people with mental health needs, learning disabilities or autism and we support our families to support their children. We provide support and guidance to teachers, social workers, physical health teams and a range of other professionals. We work to prevent admissions into hospitals and work with our acute partners to support our young people on discharge. We deliver all of our services in line with the Thrive model and work as part of the ICB groups to deliver equitable, consistent and joined up services across Staffordshire.
- Lead the service clinically and work in partnership with the senior leadership team and operational managers to deliver against service objectives and expectations.
- Ensure robust systems in place around clinical governance and the proactive management of clinical risk and evidence based practice.
- Ensure sound clinical advice given to the MH function and as joint leader of the Senior Leadership team.
- Ensure clinical standards, clinical safety and service quality within the service are maintained and continuously improved.
- Work with operational managers to develop medium and long term strategic plans for the service, based on in depth clinical knowledge of the service.
- Lead clinical service development, ensuring effective clinical engagement at all times.
- Provide effective clinical leadership, guidance and advice on national and local policies and evidence based practice for clinical area.
- Support operational managers in the development and implementation of policy and procedures relevant to service areas, ensuring the engagement of staff and service users as appropriate
- Create a positive environment of multi-disciplinary team working across the function.
