An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Participation Lead to join the Psychological Therapies Training Centre CYP IAPT team, to support the centre's involvement in the Northwest service transformation programme that aims to improve existing Children and Young Peoples Mental Health Services. The post holder will be responsible for the coordination, management, development, and support of participation across the NW CYP IAPT Collaborative. Established in 2000 to run a Postgraduate Diploma programme in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy in partnership with the University of Manchester, the Centre has since expanded its portfolio to the delivery of more than 14 distinct programmes/pathways in evidence based psychological therapies across a broad range of therapeutic modalities, mostly at postgraduate level. We have been highly successful in attracting funding from Health Education England as part of national projects aimed at Improving Access to Psychological Therapies across Adult and Children & Young Peoples’ services, and now employ over 80 staff, most of them also in current clinical practice, and train in excess of 400 students per year.
With a focus on key identified areas, the post holder will be accountable for linking the work of Partnerships into a Collaborative Participation Strategy.
- Establish and develop sustainable opportunities for participation, voice, and influence across the Northwest CYP IAPT Partnerships.
- Work regionally linking into relevant national programmes, embedding the importance of meaningful participation
- Working collaboratively with Partnership Participation Leads based on and aligned with local need to drive, champion, and embed the voice and influence vision, strategic plan, principles, and quality standards into business as usual
- Be a visible advocate for the voice, influence and rights of children, young people, and their families.
- Chair and lead the NW participation network, hosting a regular meeting bringing together representatives of the Partnerships. This forum to provide a supportive network to share practice, mutual learning, mitigate challenges and promote successes.
- Proactively engage with HEI CYP IAPT pathway leads to ensure appropriate and effective participation is embedded within all aspects of curriculum development, recruitment of staff and students and co-production and delivery of training. In partnership with programme leads ensure all requirements of accredited bodies are met and exceeded.
- Lead in the development and implementation of a participation strategy across the PTTC with a focus on CYP programmes.
