**THE ROLE**

Your primary purpose in this role will be to develop, build and maintain the reputation and positive standing of the British Business Bank through all external media across the nine UK regions and three Devolved Nations. As a high-profile, prestigious organisationat the forefront of the government’s efforts to provide information about the finance options available to smaller businesses, good communications are vitally important for the British Business Bank. Reporting to the Senior Regional Communications Manager,this is an exciting opportunity to join the Bank’s award-winning communications team.

You will help co-ordinate delivery of the launch of the Bank’s Next Generation of Regional Funds in the Devolved Nations - Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland - and the on-going communications programmes for the funds to reach their target audiences. Inaddition, you will work on the Bank’s wider regional communications programme across the UK.

Activities to include production of press notices, blogs, OpEds and other editorial content for use by media, working with the Bank’s agency network and the communications, marketing, public affairs, policy, UK Network and regional funds teams.

It is essential that you have extensive regional communications experience, managing significant regional communications programmes and/or adapting national communications programmes for regional audiences. You will also have experience of managing regionalmedia in either a private or public sector communications team, either agency or in-house.

Experience working within communications within the financial services sector would be beneficial however not essential, as would knowledge and understanding of the small business finance sector. Membership of a professional communications body e.g. CIPR,PRCA or Government Communications Service and demonstrable commitment to professional development is preferred.
