Are you an experienced healthcare communications professional with a passion for protecting and strengthening the reputation of an organisation that aims to improve the lives of people living with diabetes, obesity, endocrine and rare blood disorders? We are looking for a Communication Lead to develop, manage, and execute our corporate and brand communications strategy.
Please note, this is a **fixed-term contract of 12 months**, not eligible for relocation.
**The Position**
As our Communication Lead, you will lead a team of Communications Managers to support and enhance our corporate brand through internal and external communications. You will share best practice communications with local and global colleagues. You will create effective, engaging, and inclusive communication strategies that support the business and build strong relationships with the media.
You will:
- be responsible for leading the development and execution of Novo Nordisk's communications strategy, with a focus on building and protecting the company's reputation with employees, customers, and the media.
- have experience in managing media relations and internal communications and will be responsible for Novo Nordisk's UK external communications, including the CVP/GM thought leadership, profile, interviews, speaker opportunities and social media.
- have experience in media training and professional media engagement and will coach senior leaders and spokespeople on best practice communications.
- be responsible for strengthening and protecting the Novo Nordisk reputation through professional media management and engaging internal communications.
You are an ambitious communications and public affairs professional with experience in stakeholder engagement, media, and public engagement, capable of building networks across the global business. You have experience managing business and digital communications channels, managing and sourcing external agencies for PR, press office management and event management.
**Qualifications**:
A degree in journalism, media, public relations, communications.
We also need you to demonstrate:
- Excellent writing skills and a knowledge of how to engage different audiences.
- Proven track record of being able to multi-task effectively and work in a fast-paced environment, able to work across a broad range of communications channels, including digital.
- Ability to evaluate, monitor, and report healthcare developments and their relevance to us as a business.
- Experience working and engaging with external stakeholders, such as political stakeholders, industry bodies, and patient organizations. Previous agency experience in a public relations, public affairs, marketing, or other communications firm is preferable but not essential.
- Experience and knowledge of the ABPI code and in-house approval systems e.g., Veeva promo mats, Zinc.
As a person, you have an innate interest in British media, healthcare policy, politics, and communications and have a deep understanding of the media and comms landscape, following emerging trends, and knowing how and why they impact the business. You are a curious person who keeps up to date with the latest developments relevant to the pharmaceutical sector, health policy, and chronic healthcare conditions.
**About the Department**:
You will manage a dynamic communications team that is jointly responsible for a whole spectrum of communications activities from stakeholder, internal and brand media relations to social media and issues management. In close collaboration with other internal stakeholders, our goal is to deliver impactful communication strategies and tactics across Novo Nordisk to drive change and make a difference for patients.
