Main Duties and Responsibilities The post-holder will be working closely with the senior research management and governance facilitator, various investigators within allocated clinical units, project leads, research nurses, research physiotherapists, research coordinators, trial managers, Clinical Research Network (CRN), sponsors and academic staff. The post-holder will be responsible for efficient delivery of RMG processes and function, namely governance reviews, protocol and support document development, review of amendments and research management systems. Research Management and Governance Understands the regulatory and ethics requirements for the conduct of clinical research, especially the UK Policy for Health and Social care Research, Good Clinical Practice, and related guidance, in order to ensure delivery of authoritative advice to investigators and continued compliance with regulations and governance. Undertakes the governance reviews for regulatory and research ethics submissions, protocols and other study documentation in line with Trust SOPs and Research Governance Framework.

Supports the feasibility and confirmation of capacity and capability processes. Provides advice and guidance for submission of amendments to regulatory bodies and checks for impact on original study budget agreements. Perform the admin related tasks for pre / post approval documentation and updating relevant systems. Work closely with investigators, academic collaborators, nurses, support departments, external organisations to provide governance advice and support proportionate to their activities.

Understands the relevance of the NIHR processes, MHRA, HRA and CAG requirements and helps researchers to navigate these. Actively involved with the bi-monthly Project Evaluation Panel meeting and take minutes. Stay up to date with the developments regarding clinical research management, regulation and governance, and NHS structure and services. Support and works closely with members of the Research Management and Governance Team and the Research Delivery Team.

Assist with local implementation of national and local strategies related to research. Has working and practical knowledge of the various research management information systems e.g. CPMS, EDGE and ensure accurate data is entered and produce reports required by the department Demonstrates ability to have a good working relationship with a range of stakeholders, including clinicians, academics, our local NIHR network, commercial companies and relevant departments within the Trust. Support the day to day activities of R&D Office, and other relevant duties, which will be required from time to time for efficient running of the department
