The Research & Development Office at King’s College Hospital (KCH) is one of the focal point for innovative research in London & works closely with AHSC partners KCL, SLAM & GSTT. This level of research activity requires our staff to have the breadth of knowledge and skills to deal with any research/legislative eventuality. The department is busy and varied with many opportunities to be involved in training and exciting cross Trust networking initiatives. This post will be based at Coldharbour Lane which is within easy walking distance of Kings College Hospital which is situated at Denmark Hill.
- To update study information on the EDGE database including document uploads.
- Ensure appropriate confidentiality of records and information (verbal, written and computerised).
- Be able to deal effectively with queries relating to research governance processes
- Filing, scanning and managing research documentation as requested by Governance Senior Facilitator / Manager
- Act as joint first point of contact for callers to the Governance Office, and for telephone and written enquiries. Receive and deal with incoming telephone calls in a polite and professional manner, re-directing or taking messages and using initiative to deal with queries where appropriate. Maintain up to date contacts lists to facilitate communication across the network.
- Keep up to date with developments in Research Governance.
- Any other duties of a similar nature as requested by the Governance Specialist / Director
- To robustly manage the Research shared mailbox in conjunction with the Research Facilitators, including responding to queries allocating workload and escalating queries as necessary.

- Arrange meetings and appointments for the Research Governance Specialist. This will involve managing diaries, clarifying arrangements, collecting and collating all supporting paperwork, making travel arrangements, ensuring accurate records are kept.
- To use Oracle the Trust procurement system to request purchase orders and subsequently organise payment of invoices with accounts payable.
- Provide administrative support - such as minute taking - for meetings Chaired by the members of the Research Governance Team.
- To attend and minute the monthly R&D Governance Team Meetings.
- Any other duties of a similar nature as requested by the R&D Research Governance Specialist.
- Minute taking for meetings Chaired by the Research Contracts Manager
- Support with managing the shared drive filing system as well as ensuring necessary documents are uploaded to the EDGE database.
- Provide support for managing the costings mailbox alongside the Research Costings Officer
